DESCRIPTION:
The first condition for the birth of pediatrics developed thank to the Italian automaker FIAT when President Vittorio Valletta had thought that the reduction of absences, diseases and injuries of workers would have increased the profits. The business service health has been generated and it consisted of not only general practitioners, but also pediatricians who had to guarantee domestic and outpatient assistance to children. The first Peditricians Union was created in Turin with the aim to safeguard the daughters and sons of FIAT’s workers. In 1971, Gian Cesare Lamberto blended the many Unions under a national acronym named: Italian Peditricians Federation. Nowadays the organization works for culture, research, and education through a network that sustains the peditricians activity as well as their human and professional interests. FIMP has contributed to the birth of National Health Service and the realization of those medical services supplied by the Italian Government thanks to freelance professionals.
