DESCRIPTION:
May 27th 1991 Italy ratified the Convention on Rights of the Child adopted by UN Assembly(November 20th 1989), and about twenty years later, it established the Authority of Childhood for Calabria region, appointing Mrs. Marilina Intrieri. The guarantor has to carry out many tasks of promotion, collaboration, security, as well as advisory authority. The Guarantor advises on laws proposed by the Government in terms of the rights of children and teens following the educator Maria Montessori. Mrs. Intrieri promotes studies and researches for the implementation of rights; she pursues the Institutional goals of the national Authority, sustaining families, schools and social works through periodical actions.
