DESCRIPTION:
While European Countries were living the First Industrial Revolution, Italy was looking at the birth of those organizations that should have furthered crafts, manufacturing and commercial activities. In 1786, in Mantua, trade was liberalized and medieval guilds were suppressed; as a consequence the first sort of Chamber of Commerce have been founded. Napoleonic and Austrian domination affected government and society as well as the economy, in particular the organization of the Chamber. Only in 1926 the history of Mantuan Institution began to identify with the various Italian economic organizations that, in 1944, was official named: Board of Trade. Nowadays, Institution gathers business of Mantuan the area, promotes the economic development and supports initiatives for the enterprises’ modernization.
